Who needs another reality show?

Most people don’t enter into a marriage expecting it to fail. Yet, in today’s society—with over 50% of marriages ending in divorce—it is obvious that most couples don’t know how to make their marriage work. In many cases, they’ve never even seen a healthy marriage; so they have no guide on how to rescue their own sinking ship, and then steer it past survival and on to smooth sailing. Maybe the lack of commitment to work at marriage can be traced to a widespread lack of hope that it is actually possible to transform a dull or dysfunctional marriage into a fulfilling one. If you have never seen it happen, then it might be difficult to imagine.

That is the primary reason we created Marry Me Again—to inspire through living examples of rescued relationships. Amidst all the discouraging statistics—and widespread cynicism about marriage, in general—we’d like to offer these stories as a beacon of hope for those marriages that are heading toward the rocks….or maybe just stuck in a stagnant sea. We all realize that no marriage is “perfect”, because people aren’t perfect. But this show seeks to demonstrate that with a fresh start, some helpful relational tools, and a cooperative attitude, a failing marriage can become very fulfilling and enjoyable.

The power of a love story

There is nothing like a good love story: Boy meets Girl…Boy loses Girl…Boy wins Girl back again. But what makes Marry Me Again more engaging than your average romance is that these stories are really true. So after you click the “off” button, you’ll go away with more than just a heartwarming tale of rekindled romance; you’ll carry away some practical knowledge on how to breathe life into your own relationship (if needed), or maybe you’ll just be able to pass on some hope to family or friends for theirs.

Marry Me Again provides an engaging showcase for how to effectively correct some mistakes made in relationships. A common thread in these stories is to highlight the importance of affirmation. This is a vital ingredient to a healthy marriage that is sadly lacking in modern society. Affirmation shouldn’t be confused with compliments or praise—those things merely applaud what we do. On the other hand, affirmation applauds who we are. These days, individuals are rarely affirmed for who they are, because our culture defines us by what we do. When loving, sincere affirmation takes place between a man and woman, it is an inspiring thing to witness, and even more to experience. This program will give you the opportunity to see the healing effect that affirmation has upon a relationship.

Anatomy of a fresh start

Each week we will introduce you to a couple whose struggle might reflect that of someone you know. We will hear about the way they met, the proposal that started their commitment to each other, and then discover what went wrong between them. Next, the couple will get some helpful advice from our experts on how to transform their relationship. Finally, our romance expert will help the husband create a romantic date, based upon what he has learned about his wife. Then the romance expert will treat the wife to some shopping and pampering in preparation for the special date. All the elements for a romantic evening will be in place; but the success of it all depends upon how the wife responds to a very special surprise the husband plans, designed to win back her heart. Marry Me Again is a show about hope, inspiration, and transformation.
